CHANNEL 2 NEWS AT 10:00...
Channel 2 News has lost all footage and interviews regarding the
conditions of the
earth from the past and present. They have hired you to research this
information
and to do a commentary report on the Health of Mother Earth. This
commentary should
include information on a number of topics ranging from garbage, global
warming, overpopulation,
loss of agricultural land and food sources, pollution, water supply
diminishing,
crime to biodiversity or any other problem the earth faces. Keep in
mind that you
need to recover information from the past, for the present and into
the future. This
means that you will have to interview someone from the past, present
and future about
these topics. Also, remember that not only are the interviews gone
but so is the
footage. This means that in addition to your interviews, you will
need some sort of
visual aid that will help the viewers understand what the world was
like, what it
is like and what it will be like. Just follow these instructions to
get you started.
1. Come up with a list of 10 questions that you will use to interview
people from
the
past, present and future. There should only be one set of questions
that you will
use for each of the three interviews. There should be a minimum of 10
questions
that you will ask during the interviews but feel free to ask any
questions about the
interesting responses you will hear. The questions should be on a
variety of
subjects as mentioned above.
2. Choose the three people to be interviewed and interview them. The
person to be
interviewed for the past should be 60 years or older. The person for
the present
should be 35 years or older, and the future person should be a
biologist with some
experience in the field (this could be yourself or a biology
classmate, being the
expert biologists that you are). When you ask the biologist the
questions, keep in
mind, that they are predicting the problems that Mother Earth will be
faced with in
approximately 50 years.
3. After you have conducted your interviews, you need to show your
viewers what you
have learned about the condition of Mother Earth. You need to
construct some sort
of visual aid that displays what you have learned. This could be a
poster, a collage
or even some sort of model that you have built.
Your interviews should be conducted the weekend of May 24th through
May 27th, therefore
your interview questions will be due at the end of the period May
22nd. Your interviews
should be completed when you come to class on the 28th so that you can
begin making your visual aid. The newscast will broadcast on Saturday
June 1st so all materials
