Activity Description of "The Traveling Biome"

Title The Traveling Biome
Audience Any Biology or Life Science class
Abstract The Traveling Biome is an activity in which teachers and their students engage in a "biome exchange" with teachers and students throughout the nation. In the exchange, students construct biome boxes which accurately represent their local area. Boxes are then exchanged with a distant class. This activity is a model that can be adapted to your area. It is designed to be used by a cooperative group as a culminating activity after studying biomes in an environmental science class. However, you may find it more convenient or easier to approach it in your own way and use it in any life science or biology class. This project was originally submitted on August 10, 1994 by: Marie Doucet Lake Charles-Boston High School 1509 Enterprise Blvd. Lake Charles, LA 70601 318-433-0475 (school)
