| Title | Bio-Rings: Biodiversity and Biomass |

| Abstract | Students will explore the ideas of Biodiversity and Biomass around their school. Wire rings (16cm diameters ) are randomly thrown into "Teacher selected areas" by the students. Once they have landed, the students observe the Biodiversity within the "Bio-rings". Next they try to determine the biomass within their Bio-ring. After students have determined the Biomass, they can next try to figure out how much oxygen was produced in making this Biomass. This activity requires some practical math skills. This is not a good activity for a basic or remedial class. |
