Claudia doesn't move. "You mean busting into crates? Rather dicey, don't you think?"

"Oh. Right," you say. "Well, this is not in a crate." You hold up a folder you find next to the fax machine. It's labeled INCOMING.

"Aha," Claudia smiles. "Well, neither are these." She stoops and rescues several documents from a trash can.

"Plus your book on expeditions. And that good old dictionary," you add.

Then the fax beeps again.

"Read through those," she says. "I'll look through these. And meanwhile we'll get more of Perdita's diary off the fax."
