F. Effects of Human Population Growth
Evidently the major fundamental cause for this process is human population growth, no doubt. Different predictions, as you can see, point to different scenarios in the future in terms of the population sizes that we're going to see. Obviously the differences are really huge depending on what kinds of measures are taken and what kind of family planning methods are applied and created, particularly in the developing countries where most of that population growth happens.
In my opinion, there is no family planning program that would work if the educational level of the society is very low, particularly, if the educational level of the women is lacking. But it is not only population. I don't think we can only blame countries that are growing at a fast pace. It's also the impact that that population has on the environment, on one hand on the degree of the consumption of resources and on the other, the impact that those resources have on the environment.
So, you can see you can have different combinations of factors: the impact of those resources on the environment and the population size that would result from the consumption of those resources. It surely would have to be very pressing when talking about population growth programs. But also, very, very much a pressing issue is the level of consumption that different societies are aiming to have or are having already.
