Quinolone - Direct action on the bacterial DNA gyrase.
Examples - Ciprofloxacin, ofloxacin, trevafloxacin.
Amino-glycosides - Inhibition of protein synthesis.
Examples - Amikacin, neomycin, etc.
Chlor-hexadrine - Surfacant; disrupts bacterial membrane.
Used at times for control of periodontal disease.
