Color composites are really a matter of personal preference. Pete Ersts, who you saw earlier, actually has trouble seeing green so he tends to try to find shades of red to discriminate different land patterns. You'll notice the two composites on the right contain the same three bands but that one is red and one is green. This is an example of how you can try to bring out features and identify a composite that's easiest for you to read and see the distinguishing features. 5,7,3, this area, this composite, can help you discriminate areas with high moisture content, the darker areas are the areas with higher moisture content.
