About 2,300 different individual forest elephants have been documented to come into this bai. There are also gorillas. This is the lowland gorilla and some of us have been privileged to be charged by a lowland gorilla. That's as close a picture I have of it - a foot print. There are lots of forest antelopes like the blue duiker. There are many wonderful insects, beautiful butterflies, geckos.
Here's our field crew from last summer. There's me, a couple of my students, one of our scientific assistants and a couple of park guides that we were training in inventory methods and scientific documentation of inventory and who were helping us out. We were doing a lot of instruction on biodiversity also.
