NHM's monthly Health Focus provides classroom teachers and others with carefully reviewed, readily available, scientifically sound Internet resources related to health programs, activities, and events selected from the National Health Observances Calendar prepared by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

Each Question of the Week includes background information and discussion questions about a featured health topic and is designed to increase user understanding of that topic. The health topics chosen for the Question of the Week relate to middle and high school health curricula, apply to the life-style choices students make, and help students more fully understand the relevance of health-related news to their lives.

Clinical Trials are an important part of the development and approval of new medicines and medical devices. Choosing to participate in a clinical trial is an important personal decision. Information provided by The Center for Information and Study on Clinical Research Participation (CISCRP), a non-profit organization, answers frequently asked questions and provides educational materials.
 
mg Health, Science, and Society
The extensive archives of Health Politics with Dr. Mike Magee, a popular weekly Internet-based electronic media program that explores complex issues of health care policy and public health, have been made available to Access Excellence. The topics and materials selected by AE's editors address National Science Education Standards and/or National Health Education Standards, are included in middle and high school science and health curricula, and are of particular relevance to middle and high school students.
