Like many of my cyber-classmates, I'm a biology teacher who appreciates the opportunity to learn and explain the science of life to young people. This is my 25th year of teaching biology at the Fieldston School in the Riverdale section of the Bronx, NY - a coed independent school. Before that, I worked for several years in a Human Genetics research lab; my interest in genetics and cell biology are strong.
I'm a native New Yorker who went to college in Massachusetts, spent many summers in the Adirondacks, and lived a couple of years in Salt Lake City, Washington DC, and Seattle. My horizons are broad; I've enjoyed travel to 31 countries (5 were on Earthwatch projects) experiencing cities, international foods, and wilderness. My interests include nature, art, classical music, quilting, photography, tennis, canoeing, and people. I'm divorced, the mother of four, grandmother of two, have a multitude of houseplants and a sense of humor.
