Crickets As Thermometers

Setting The Minimum And Maximum Values For The X And Y Axes

You are now almost ready to view your graph. Your data is entered on a data table, and the plotting function has been set so that L1 and L2 will be graphed on the X and Y axes respectively. But you need to make sure that your axes are scaled properly to fit your points.

  1. Scale your axes
    • Press ZOOM, 9.
    • A graph of the six points now appears on the screen. It should appear to be a linear (straight line) function.
  2. Check the coordinates on your graph.
    • Press TRACE. Use the right arrow keys to move to the next point. At the bottom of the screen, you will see each temperature and its corresponding number of chirps.
