Transpiration

Procedure

1-6. Prepare the plant and the apparatus for the experiment.

7. Place your setup in an area where the wind, humidity, and temperature are reasonably constant. This will be your control setup.

8. Allow the system to equilibrate for at least 5 minutes.

9. Prepare the computer for data collection.

10. Start measuring the pressure by clicking on the Start button. If the y axis values are not appearing on the graph, you may wish to stop the program and reset the y axis to correspond to the values which appear at the bottom of the screen. Start again. If you do not wish to stop the data collection, the axis can be scaled so that the lines are visible after the data have been collected.
