Computer Interfacing
Computer Stations

If computer stations are set on movable carts and wheeled to a
classroom, a minimum of hardware can serve a large number of students.
The top of the cart should be large enough to place not only a
computer, keyboard, and mouse pad, but should hold the interface
box as well. A 36" wide cart works well.
In our school, every classroom networked. When a student moves
a computer cart up to their lab table, they simply plug in a network
cable from the computer into a jack on the wall. That way,
- one printer serves our entire science department.
- Student data can be saved in a single location - the network
server.
- the teacher has access to all of the student's data.
Networking is not necessary, but printing plots and data tables
may prove troublesome without it.
