Level 6

Student work shows very high quality and outstanding care and effort. All aspects of the tasks and analysis are completed thoroughly. The studentUs excellent written expression explaining the entry contributes to clear, coherent, and exemplary communication.

Level 5

Student work shows very good quality and great care and effort. The written explanation of work, captions, and Self-reflection Sheet show strong knowledge of the scientific concepts presented. The chosen format presents a scientific concept in an original manner that enhances the communication of the scientific concept. All aspects of the tasks and analysis are complete. Written expression explaining the entry is commendable and contributes to clear and coherent communication.

Level 4

Student work shows good quality and careful effort. The written explanation of work, captions, and Self-reflection Sheet show solid knowledge of the scientific concepts presented. The chosen format presents a scientific concept in an original manner that supports communication of the scientific concept. All major aspects of the tasks and analysis are complete. Written expression explaining the entry is good and contributes to coherent communication.

Level 3

Student work shows effort but limited quality. The written explanation of work, captions, and Self-reflection Sheet show basic knowledge of the scientific concepts presented. The chosen format may present a scientific concept but may not enhance the expression of a scientific concept. Some aspects of the tasks and analysis are complete. Written expression explaining the entry provides basic communication.

Level 2

Student work shows little effort and quality. The written explanation of work, captions, and Self-reflection Sheet show limited knowledge of the scientific concepts presented. The chosen format presents the scientific concept in a careless manner and may not enhance the expression of the scientific concept. Most aspects of the tasks and analysis are largely incomplete. Written expression explaining the entry is flawed and provides limited communication.

Level 1

Student work is minimal or inappropriate. The written explanation of work, captions, and the Self-reflection Sheet show minimal knowledge of scientific concepts. The chosen format does not present a scientific concept or the format may not enhance the expression of the scientific concept. Tasks and analysis are mostly incomplete. Written expression explaining the entry is very flawed and ineffective.
