2.1 Demonstrate use of appropriate sterile technique for handling bacteria. Streak plate. Grow bacteria and transfer bacteria from one plate to another
2.2 Distinguish between bacteria and fungi when they are growing on agar plates and when they are growing on liquid media.
2.3 Examine prepared slides of Mycobacterium tuberculosis the bacterium which causes TB.
2.4 Demonstrate knowledge of the requirements for bacterial growth. (Food, water, space, etc.) and use experimental methods to show how removal of any one of these elements stops bacterial growth.
2.5 Describe the growth requirements for the bacterium which causes tuberculosis.
2.6 Design and conduct an experiment to determine the source of bacteria growing in a flask. Your experimental design must have appropriate controls and a single variable.
