Our roving reporters collared unsuspecting Fellows for off-the-cuff, "Hominid in the Hall" interviews. As a reward they got to dig into the Hominid Grab Bag for rare and unusual prizes.

Q:How did you recover from grades and finals?
A: Artistic expression. We ended the school year on May 29th, and I then commenced painting my son's bedroom. The motif was Hunter green and cream beige.
Q:How do you feel about having this interview on the 'net'?
A:"Ooh, scary!".
A: After the last day of school I and fourteen fellow teachers (both hearing and deaf) and their children ventured on a canoe trip. Navigational communicating on the river was a real challenge and extremely exciting. Imagine canoeing down a river, riding horses, and camping out for three days. Next year, this escape could be a terrific release after finals. Try it.
Q: What food does the summit remind you of, and why?
A: A salad and granola bar. Everything in this workshop is healthy and is lacking in fat.
Q:What have you done on your vacation been so far?
A: No vacation time! I went to an AP reading, a hemophilia camp, and came directly here. I did do my laundry, however!
Q: How do you expect AE to change your teaching 'style'?
A:Having access to the WWW and connection to other teachers will be a great benefit. Learning how to get on to the web, talk to other teachers online, talk about and download activities will really help my classes.
Q:What food does the summit remind you of, and why?
A: Dessert, because it is the best part of the meal.
Q:What have you done on your vacation been so far?
A: What vacation? I'm on a 12 month contract. My wife did my laundry for me.
