  • AstroWeb
    Maintained by the AstroWeb Consortium, this site contains pointers to publications, people, organizations, software and more -- all related to astronomy.

  • Color Landform Atlas of the United States
    Each state link brings up a menu of links to maps and other online information about the state. Links are included for web pages from the Virtual Tourist, City Net, and YaHoo. Currently two maps are available for each state (except Alaska and Hawaii): A topographic map optimized to show the landforms, and a map showing counties in a state.

  • Home Planet
    Release 3 of Home Planet is a "comprehensive astronomy, space, satellite-tracking package for Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0 and above. Release 2 can be used with Windows 3.1. This FREE software allows you to view an earth map, position and phase data for the sun and moon and more. If you are a Windows user, check it out!.

  • Hubble Space Telescope Public Images
    Did you miss Comet Shoemaker-Levy? Not to worry, this and many more astronomical events and images captured by the Hubble Space telescope are available at this site. Be sure not to miss the "HST's Greatest Hits of 1990-1995"!

  • NASA's Mars Pathfinder Mission
    Follow the progress of the Mars Pathfinder probe launched on December 4, 1996 carrying a microrover (Sojouner) designed to examine the surface of Mars. The website is separated into two parts reflecting the state of the mission before and after the July 4, 1997 landing.

  • The Nine Planets
    The Nine Planets site is loaded with interesting information, including history, current theories, mythology, and data gathered by spacecraft. The site is well-organized, easy to navigate, and includes images, animation and sound files, and a glossary of terms. This is an excellent resource for everything from general statistical research to casual browsing.

    Very cool...especially the "Phenomena Backgrounders" which have interesting activities for the classroom and a well compiled set of links for each phenomenon.

  • Space Movie Archive
    Nearly 2,000 movies from space are available at this site...which asserts that it has the "biggest collection of space animations on the web"...from science "fact" to science "fiction"!

  • Stanford Solar Center
    Designed for grades 4-12, the site offers a activities, quizzes and more, in its hands-on approach to exploring the Sun. Data is provided by the SOHO spacecraft and, particularly, the MDI instrument from the Solar Oscillations Investigation team.

  • Views of the Solar System
    Views of the Solar System has been created as an educational tour of the solar system. It contains images and information about the Sun, planets, moons, asteroids, comets and meteoroids found within the solar system. It contains over 220 pages of information, over 950 high-resolution images and animations, and over 880 megabytes of data.....Whew!

  • Virtural Earthquake
