My Activity

I have been teaching biological sciences for 30+ years and most of those years have been in Austin, Texas. I retired from teaching in May 2002 from Westlake High School in Austin, TX. I am originally from Benton, Arkansas and graduated from Arkansas Polytechnic University in 1967. My husband and I have moved to Houston to be near our daughter, Christy and her family. Our only son, Dax, was killed in May of 2000. I am considering teaching again this next school year 2003-2004 if the right opportunity presents itself. In Texas if you are out of education for one year, you can return to teaching and draw your retirement AND your salary if you are in a critical need area, which science usually is.
