Notre Dame Academy
I have been teaching high school biology and chemistry for 27 years, most of them at Notre Dame Academy, an all-girls secondary school. I am department chair and like teaching AP biology the best. I am a strong advocate of single sex education for girls, since they excel in general leadership skills and in science and math in particular. I am also comoderator of a very active science club, which involves supervising kids doing independent research. I really LOVE this "doing science." Outside of school time, I enjoy spectator sports, caring for the biology lab inhabitants (including Ernie, the 4-foot iguana), crafts and nature-watching.
