Kids. Teens. Adults .Seniors. The President's Physical Fitness Challenge encourages all Americans to make being active part of their everyday lives.

  • Poor diet and physical inactivity (combined) are rapidly approaching tobacco (435,000 deaths) as the leading cause of preventable death in the US.
  • The health risk posed by physical inactivity is almost as high as risk factors such as cigarette smoking, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol.
  • The major barriers most people face when trying to increase physical activity are time, access to convenient facilities, and safe environments in which to be active.
  • Thirty to sixty minutes of activity broken into smaller segments of 10 or 15 minutes throughout the day has significant health benefits.
-- President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports

A proven way to stay focused and improve physical fitness is to record your daily physical activity and fitness progress. Schools can register for the President's Fitness Challenge and use the online Fitness File to set up a Physical Fitness or Health Fitness program for their students , record students' test scores, and run fitness testing reports.

Individuals can download and print an Activity Log form or they can record fitness activities and review their progress online using "My Activity Log",
